Bill B.

Objective

I'm looking to get on a web development team working with ASP.NET MVC Framework building quality, maintainable software. Over the last 20 years I've coded in many environments and languages, but I also enjoy working with English and with people. My love of research, learning and experimentation coupled with my programming experience makes me a very technically oriented BA or programmer/analyst. I'm happy coding but I also like to vary my occupation with technical writing, documentation and business analysis.

Education

1980                 University of Michigan

BA, Economics

And a smattering of Computer Science classes.

1984 - Present

Various classes for fun

Assembler, C, C++, C#, Java, accounting, DC electronics, technical writing, photovoltaics (NABCEP Entry Level Certified), etc.

Employment

2009 - Present

Developed www.HomeDuOver.com using ASP.Net MVC, SQL Server, JQuery, Flickr API, AJAX, separation of concerns, single responsibility.

2008 - Present

Contract Winforms programming in C# with Infragistics Controls. Mainly, unfortunately, maintaining existing code in the Smart UI anti-pattern.

2005 - Present

Started www.cuppasugar.com, an experiment to see how the Internet can facilitate communication within a small and geographically limited group, like a neighborhood. Indulged my interest in home remodeling. Cared for elderly parent.

  • Designed, developed and maintained Exult's own web based time tracking system and it's Microsoft EXCEL interface to Exult's accounting system.
  • Prototyped the use of a TIFF viewer within a VB application and a Microsoft Exchange interface while developing a document management solution for a client.
  • Developed a web based document management system with a folder structure user interface for Exult's project management team.

VB, VBScript, IIS\ASP, SQL Server, Windows Scripting Host, MS Word, Visio, UML diagramming.

2000 - 2001       Emerald Solutions
